One thing you must remember is that you should not run an instant pot without the insert in place. Fill up the pot about half full or two thirds with water; more water will cause a problem with the cooker and the food as well. After that, you need to close the lid and make sure it is sealed. This will be done by setting the pressure release valve to “sealing.” Press the manual then and set the timings on the pot as per your cooking needs. With that, your instant pot will be set to cook your food within time.
